Description
This Native Californian Sage which has been valued, tended and collected for use in ceremony by California’s indigenous people for thousands of years is seriously at risk from over-harvesting by non-indigenous people and companies who are profiting by marketing its use! It is more important than ever to only use White Sage that you have grown yourself otherwise you are supporting the plant’s extinction in the wild and making it impossible for indigenous people to have access to this culturally important plant! White Sage has been traditionally used to cleanse the spirit and welcome positive thoughts. This California native has distinctive silvery green foliage which forms a lovely rosette and eventually grows into quite a shrub with spikes of lavender pink blooms. The resin rich leaves are dried and traditionally burned as an incense. Very drought tolerant and requires excellent drainage and a sunny exposure. Herbaceous perennial. Hardy to zones 6-9.
