Description
Easily naturalized in the garden this common looking foot tall herb has a pungent odor and flavor. Epazote is highly esteemed for seasoning corn, black beans, fish and shellfish. It also is a nice addition to the preparation of beans (allays flatulence). This plant should not be used during pregnancy. Traditionally used to rid the body of parasites. Prefers full to partial sun, Hardy self seeding annual. Hardy to zones 2-10.
