Tulsi, Sacred Basil, Pagoda Tulsi, East Indian Basil. Grows well in full sun and light, well-drained, fertile soil. Susceptible to frost. By continually removing the flowers and harvesting frequently one season can result in a large harvest.. This is a much valued plant of the Ayurvedic tradition. Highly aromatic, with a volatile hint of camphor. Used for its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties in treatment of ringworm, malaria, and dysentery. Very popular tea for overall stress reduction, blood sugar issues and a general sense of well being. Easy to grow in garden conditions. Annual/Tender Perennial. Hardy to zones 10-11.
