Description
Featured herb of 2013 Native to the high Andes Mountains. This radish like root has been used for thousands of years by the Inca people. It is highly nutritious and energizing. Maca root can promote fertility and is also reported to be an aphrodisiac. Recent studies have shown Maca root to be an effective herb for minimizing hotflashes and mood swings during menopause adding to its popularity world -wide. The plant flowers in early spring after over wintering. The feathery leaved plants prefer cool, well drained soil and require very little water. This cultivar is better suited to low altitude cultivation. Easy to grow and very sturdy plant. Full sun. Perennial. Hardy to zones 3-8.
