Description
Another introduction in line with my GIANT plant Fetish. This unusual cultivar originates from the Himalaya of Kashmir, often found growing at extremely high elevations. In a garden setting it can grow to an impressive 8 to 10 feet in good soil, with showy, 2 inch pinkish/lavender flowers. The root and leaves have demulcent qualities common to all mallows and can be emetic if taken in large quantities. The leaves are also eaten as a green when young and the flowers are edible and pretty in salads. Prefers a moist site full or partial shade. Perennial. Very hardy to Zones 6-10.
